The Strike-A-Chord Over-50’s Christmas Concert

An uplifting Christmas celebration for the Over-50’s by the Over-50’s

During the Yuletide, many are the programmes and events that focus on children (and rightfully so). Elderly Care Homes may organise Christmas parties for their residents, but seldom do you ever hear of a concert solely for the ageing community. The “Strike-A-Chord Over-50’s Christmas Concert” intends to be an uplifting Christmas celebration for the Over-50’s by the Over-50’s. As much as possible, the singers, players and musicians at the concert will be in the 50+ age group.

Strike-A-Chord is a Birmingham-based not-for-profit fun-filled project in which the Over-50’s and Over-60’s learn how to play the keyboard! This activity fosters togetherness and social interaction, as well as helps the ageing population overcome isolation and loneliness.  The date for the concert is Wednesday, 7th of December and the venue shall be St Martin’s in the Bull Ring. The concert starts at 5:00 pm.

GET INVOLVED

We are forming an Over-50’s Community Choir for the concert! Thus, we are inviting people aged 50+ from various denominations, churches and wards across our city to come join the choir and sing at this uplifting Christmas celebration. Secondly, our Strike-A-Chord keyboard lessons for Beginners (Over-50’s & Over-60’s) are about to start and you can be part of the Keyboard Corps to perform at the concert. Finally, we are still in need of corporate sponsors and your church, company, ministry or organization can make a difference! Contact us through our website www.StrikeAChord.uk, email strikeachorduk@gmail.com or 07847 84 86 86 and @strikeachorduk on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
