Riverside Church turns 40

Riverside Church will celebrate its 40th anniversary this weekend with a series of special events. A half night of prayer will take place from 7.00pm on Friday evening (5 July) to midnight. Saturday evening (6 July) will see a number of social activities, including face-painting and a Ceilidh, take place at the Saffron Centre, Highgate. The celebrations will continue with a service at 10.30am on Sunday morning (7 July).

Riverside Church was founded by Nick and Lois Cuthbert and others in 1984. The vision was to reach out to people with the Christian gospel. As it impacted the community, Riverside Church grew quickly, bringing people from a diversity of backgrounds into a discovery of God’s amazing love. Built on the foundation of worship, fellowship and evangelism, Riverside Church continues to reach out to local communities and places of work.

Riverside Church operates through Sunday morning gatherings and a range of midweek groups and activities. Its leadership team consists of Senior Pastor Tim Chilvers, Associate Pastor Judy Moore, Generations and Groups Pastor Sarah Auger, Gatherings Pastor Nathanael Ballew, Worship Director Ben Pearson and Operations Director Ado Muronzi. An independent charity, Riverside Church is a member of the national Evangelical Alliance.
