Refugee Week 2023

This year Refugee Week in Birmingham runs from Saturday 17 to Sunday 25 June and the national theme for Refugee Week 2023 is: Compassion.

There are a number of events and opportunities to engage with this year.

My Birmingham – Birch Network

Photography Exhibition and event

Thursday 22nd June – 4:00-8.30pm

Centrala
Unit 4 Minerva Works, 158 Fazeley St, Birmingham B5 5RT

An exhibition of photographs by Birch Network service users will be displayed with the photographers present to engage the public in conversations prompted by the work. There will be interpreters on hand to help with conversations.  With live music from ‘In her Shoes’, singing songs written by refugee women.

March to Birmingham’s Get-together for Compassion in Centenary Square

Welcome Churches

A Refugee Prayer Hour has been organised by Welcome Churches for Monday 19th June, 8pm-9pm. This event is taking place via zoom, register HERE to receive the link.

Restore

Restore is a project of Birmingham Churches Together offering support and friendship. You can train to be a befriender with Restore – visit their website to find out about opportunities.
