Pray 24 Brum

During The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Christians came together in Birmingham to pray for the city over 24 hours. Now in its 9th year #Pray24Brum is a wonderful opportunity to begin the year with prayer.

This year we were bought together through music, movement and word as each group who led an hour bought their own flavour. The variety and depth of prayer is one of the many blessings of Pray24Brum. As part of the prayer relay, a leaders’ breakfast took place on the morning of Saturday 21 January.

Church Leaders attend the Prayer Breakfast at St Chad’s Cathedral

This year our theme was ‘Do Good, Seek Justice’ and in the prayer breakfast Church Leaders shared their reflections, hopes and vision for the city.

We were generously hosted this year by St Chad’s Cathedral. Pray24Brum is welcomed by a different church each year enabling us to move around the city centre.

“The greatest obstacle to Christian Unity is believing that we don’t really need the other churches and Christian communities – that we are fine by ourselves” Archbishop Bernard Longley

Pray24Brum will return during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in 2024. We hope you will join us.
