Invitation to participate in Pray24Brum

Pray24Brum enters its seventh year of hosting 24 hours of prayer for The City during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

These have been significant times of prayer for Birmingham, encouraging and inviting individuals, groups or congregations to lead an hour of prayer, or simply join in with the prayer for as much time as you have available. One of the priorities of Church life in the City is prayer and this has been growing in momentum and impact in recent years. This year – 2022 – sees nations coming to Birmingham and the surrounding area to take part in The Commonwealth Games – the need for concerted prayer has never been more real.

The 24 hours of prayer takes place between 8:00am and 9:00pm on Friday 21 January and between 8:00am and 8:00pm on Saturday 22 January 2022. This is a hybrid event and many people will choose to come to The Church at Carrs Lane , Birmingham, B4 7SX to pray in person, whilst others may feel that they would like to participate on-line. In the event of a lockdown, the event will continue exclusively in an on-line format. The beauty of this 24 hours of praying together, is that each group leads prayer in their own style or tradition, which then makes up a rich tapestry of prayer for The City.

If you’ve not already signed up, there are still some hours not yet taken  – you can sign up and participate HERE.  Birmingham needs our prayers at this time, so whether you are able to sign up to lead an hour, to participate in person at The Church at Carrs Lane, or connect in on-line, your involvement at this very momentous time for our City, particularly at this early point in the year, will make a huge impact in the prayer rhythm and spiritual life of The City.

Come and join many others such at St Martin’s in the Bull Ring, Chaplaincy Plus, Northfield Churches, St Chad’s and Abbey Schools, St Philip’s Cathedral, Restore, as we see our prayers make a difference.
