Good Friday: Walk of Witness

On Good Friday a number of Walks of Witness will take place across the city.

GOOD FRIDAY WALK OF WITNESS in Birmingham City Centre 18th April 2025

Welcome to our Ecumenical Walk of Witness for Birmingham City Centre.

We will be starting once again from the Church in Carrs Lane and we are delighted to welcome many of our church leaders and representatives from their respective communities as our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, our Servant and our King.

Route and approximate timings

Please note  all times after the 10am start are approximate depending on numbers and the weather.

10.00am The Church at Carrs Lane
10.30am Pause on High Street
10.40am Pause outside Spec Savers on New St
11.00am Outside Birmingham Council House
11.25am Outside St Philip’s Cathedral.
12.noon  St Chad’s Cathedral

Finishing at approx.12.20pm with refreshments in the Grimshaw Room all are welcome


Handsworth Walk of Witness


Erdington Walk of Witness

10.30-11.30am: Start from Erdington High Street near Oikos Cafe.

This will end in a united Service in front of Saint Barnabas Parish Church on Erdington High Street.


Kings Heath Walk of Witness

Following an ecumenical service at 11.15am at New Life Baptist Church High Street Kings Heath, we will silently process at noon, up the High Street to All Saints Anglican Church. Contact Deacon David at fairbo28@gmail.com or 07948379545 for further details.


B30 Walk of Witness

Churches Together in B30

There are three start points: Cotteridge Church, on Pershore Road South starting after the 10:30 Morning Worship; St Joseph’s on Station Rd gathering outside at 11am with a short prayer and a period of silence. The Pavilion Church on Heath Rd gathering at 11:15 for a short prayer and a period of silence.

The groups starting at Cotteridge Church and St Joseph’s walk to meet up in Watford Rd outside the Friends Meeting House.

After a period of silence the walkers carry  on down to Beaumont Rd.

At the same time the group starting at Rowheath Pavilion Church also walk to Beaumont Rd.

The two groups meet outside the old Bournville URC building, after a pause for silence and a prayer everyone then walks together down to St Francis Church at Bournville Green.

They arrive in time for a short prayer led by St Francis before the beginning of their traditional Good Friday 12noon service. The walkers then disperse or join in the Good Friday Service at St Francis.

People are welcome to join the walk at any of the start points or the stops along the way.


Churches Together in Central Sutton Coldfield

Beginning at Holy Trinity CofE Church at 10am with a short service. We will then walk through the town, with Bible readings at various points. We end back at Holy Trinity CofE Church for refreshments.
