West Midlands Mayor Andy Street is seeking to work closely with all faith communities in the region. At this time of significant socio-economic crisis, Andy is calling faith leaders to gather, collaborate and inspire – and to put faith into action.
To this end, a day-long meeting will take place at the Bescot Stadium, Walsall WS1 4SA, on Wednesday 30 November. The aim is to learn from each other about the issues and challenges in our neighbourhoods, to share new ideas and initiatives and to explore ways to collaborate around providing places of warm welcome and bringing dignity and hope to the vulnerable and needy.
At the summit, the Mayor and his team will discuss how we might work together to address the cost-of-living crisis, highlighting the support and initiatives coming from his office. The event will include panel discussions with leaders from Local Authorities and Health providers, looking at how best to collaborate in order to meet needs. The Faith in Action Summit will be filled with stories of good practice and fresh thinking. In the afternoon session, a series of practical workshops will address issues such as mental health, homelessness, the cost-of-living crisis and creating community transformation plans. The voices of emerging leaders will be heard throughout the summit.
The Faith in Action Summit is for members of the Christian community, as well as of other faiths, who are impacting their community through charitable or voluntary work. Full information and registration for this free event are HERE.
