Booking: Do Scientists Have the Right to Change our Genes? – Science and Faith in the Second City
Are science and faith opposed to one another? Does science disprove the existence of God? Or, alternatively, are science and the Christian faith complementary partners, together helping us to understand the world and our place in it in the early 21st century? This series of talks will all be given by prominent scientists who are also Christians, explaining how their science and their Christian beliefs work together.

Gene modification is a sensitive field. How much should we modify the genetic makeup of plants to feed the world and do the same rules apply to human genetics? In his talk (University of Southampton) will explore the extent to which scientists should be allowed to do things ‘just because they can’ and whether modifying the human genome is tantamount to playing God? Professor Fox is co-author of ‘Modifying our genes: theology, science and playing God’, published in 2021.
