It has been announced that the next Church of England Bishop of Birmingham is to be the Revd Dr Michael Volland. You can read the full announcement HERE

Of his nomination as Bishop of Birmingham, Michael said,
“I am excited to be following the call of God to serve the city and region as the next Bishop of Birmingham. The family and I are looking forward to making our home in Birmingham, getting to know and love people and communities, and to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ alongside Christians across the Church of England Birmingham. Please pray for us as we prepare to move into God’s hopeful future.”

Queen’s is delighted at the appointment @michael_volland Principal of Ridley Hall, Cambridge as bishop @cofebirmingham As the theological college ‘on his patch’, we’re looking forward to working with him alongside other church leaders in the region.
The Revd Dr Michael Volland has spent some time in Birmingham this past week meeting people from the Multi Faith Chaplaincy as well as a tour of the Divine Beauty Project at St Philips Cathedral.
Revd Dr Michael Volland will take up this new position in the New Year.
