Chaplaincy Commissioning Service

The Annual Thanksgiving and Commissioning Service of the ‘Churches and Industry Group Birmingham-Solihull’ (CIGB) will take place at Solihull Methodist Church, Blossomfield Road, Solihull, B91 1LG, at 3.30pm on Sunday (26 November).

At Sunday’s service, the work of CIGB’s chaplains will be celebrated, and ten new chaplains (Helen Barton, Paul Burden, Winnie Flanagan, Lorna Kitchen, David McKee, Gavin Page, Keith Palmer, David Parsons, Herbie Rose and Jess Vadukul) commissioned.

CIGB chaplains support staff at places such as Birmingham Airport, Birmingham City Centre retail outlets, Birmingham Town Hall/Symphony Hall, Jaguar Landrover, Jericho, National Express, NEC and West Midlands Fire Service.

Revd Nick Parker, Rector of Solihull, will be the guest preacher. The service will be followed by light refreshments.

Trustees and chaplains from CIGB will be joined on this occasion by friends from ‘Coventry and Warwickshire Workcare’ ahead of the planned merger of the two organisations into a new West Midlands Chaplaincy CIO in January 2024.

The service is open to all and provides an excellent opportunity to find out more about Workplace Chaplaincy in the West Midlands. More information at https://cigb.org.uk/.
