Birmingham Christmas Shelter

How many people will you be cooking for this Christmas ?
We are looking for experienced Chefs or Cooks to volunteer with us, for one or more shifts, between 24th and 28th December inclusive. You’ll have a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help you.
At Birmingham Christmas Shelter we open our doors 24 hours a day during Christmas week and welcome up to 150 guests daily, providing hot meals and drinks, entertainment, services, emergency clothing and a safe and warm place to sleep. We open our doors to our guests for several days and nights during the Christmas week, when most of the other services they rely on, take a well-earned rest and close down.
We are situated at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Primary School, in central Birmingham (it’s between the 02 Academy and the Ibis hotel, just off Bristol Street),
Our kitchen, from which we cook and serve 3 hot meals daily for around 150 guests, will be open between 07:00 and 20:00 each day, from the 24th to the 27th December and between 07:00 and 10:00 for breakfast only, on our final day, the 28th December.
So, if you’d like to come and cook for the homeless, lonely and vulnerable, in Birmingham, this Christmas, please click the link below for further information and how to apply.

Birmingham Christmas Shelter is a local charity that has raised funds and recruited volunteers each year since 1974 to provide local homeless and other adults who would be alone at Christmas, with a free warm, safe place to eat, shower, sleep and enjoy Christmas.
