WorkCare West Midlands: Administrator
WorkCare West Midlands, a charity providing workplace chaplaincy in the West Midlands and Warwickshire, seeks to appoint a part-time administrator to work ten hours per week (more by arrangement), based at John Cadbury House, Corporation Street, Birmingham and remote.
The primary duties of the Administrator will be:
- To be responsible to the Lead Officer for general administrative duties – A task list can be found below giving an indication of the range of activities, but this is not exhaustive.
- To work with the Lead Officer in publicity and promotion of the chaplaincy.
- To provide administrative support to training programmes and to help recruit potential chaplains.
- To record data and statistics in a manner that enables easy retrieval to support analysis, reports and funding applications.
- To take notes and produce minutes of meetings as and when required.
- To process and ensure compliance with GDPR, Health and Safety, DBS and any other Safeguarding policies agreed by the Trustees.
- To raise the Chaplaincy’s profile through the traditional media, social media, and newsletters
- To undertake other reasonable tasks as requested by the Lead Officer or Chair of Trustees.
To ensure sympathy with the ethos of the organisation, the successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- A basic understanding of the purpose and vision of chaplaincy, although previous experience of chaplaincy work is not necessary.
- The ability to be the public face of WWM where appropriate and to be at ease with people who are not familiar, whether senior or junior in an organisation.
- The ability to communicate effectively on matters concerning the chaplaincy.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to work without supervision.
- The ability to manage time and encourage others to support the role.
- Administrative and computer skills with a good working knowledge of IT, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, website apps and internet usage.
- The ability to seek opportunities to promote the organisation.
- A heart to love and care for other people.
- Loyalty to and acceptance of the supervision provided by the Lead Officer.
Minimum experience:
- Experience gained working with other employees and administration/coordination in a team context.
- Previous employment where the candidate has interfaced with the public will be considered an advantage.
- Good IT, written and verbal communication skills.
