Online meditation half-day retreat

On Saturday morning (11 July), ChaplaincyPlus will host an online retreat, ‘Beholding the radiance of creation:Contemplation and the healing of the world.’ The retreat will be facilitated by Chris Whittington. Chris was introduced to meditation in the Christian tradition at the age of 19, when living at the Benedictine Monastery of Prinknash Abbey. He spent a period as Chief Operating Officer of the World Community for Christian Meditation. Chris is a Partner and Head of Education Law at Anthony Collins Solicitors.

Chris says, ‘There is a growing awareness that the created world is not separate from us, that all we have and enjoy in the world arises through a network of relationships, that we are who we are because of our participation in an interdependent whole. Contemplation, the practice of stillness, of deep looking and deep listening, helps us come to know the essential interconnectedness and unity of creation, that we might learn to encounter the world and those around us with gratitude and wonder.’

In preparation for Saturday’s half-day retreat, participants are invited to listen to Chris Whittington’s recent lunchtime meditation session focusing on ‘Beholding the radiance of creation,’ which is accessible via THIS LINK.

The retreat will start promptly at 10.00am and conclude at 12.30pm. The retreat is offered free-of-charge, with an opportunity to make a donation to ChaplaincyPlus when reserving a place. To register to attend, click HERE.
